1992. Very interesting to taste a sparkling from the US with this much age. Some yeast ones on the palate and the nose is mostly of bruised apple. Not particularly complex at this stage

Mar 20th, 2014Without exaggeration one of the most unique wines I’ve ever had in both background and taste. Story is pretty cool. Check it out as I couldn’t do it justice. As far as the wine, I’ve had some higher end aged champagne and this is close in someway but very much it’s own things. In my opinion, primarily chalky mineralogy and toast notes, but it makes up for it with creamy flan notes with fading strawberrys giving a bit of a lift. More predominantly this had an lovely Sherryesque quality with some honey notes. Encouraged every aspect of my wine geek side.
