Sipping Fine Wine

Teldeschi Vineyard, with some of the oldest vines planted from 1913 to 1919, located in heart of Dry Creek Valley AVA in Sonoma County. Deep Ruby with subtle aromas of black fruits, citrus and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blueberry with citrus, black pepper and cacao notes. Lively acidity, tannins with a rustic edge, long finish, full-bodied wine ending with fruit and herb spice character. Should develop nicely over next 5+ years. Nice! Tasting Sample!

First red wine at Elyse Winery. Medium ruby red in appearance. Layered nose with some stewed spices, red plums, cinnamon and savory herbs. Medium tannins (5.5/10) with a medium plus body. Nice punch of spices on the attack of the palate with great acidity, black cherries, twigs and white pepper. Medium plus length finish. Drink till 2022.

Fruit is sourced from two vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley: Teldeschi and Ramazzoti Vineyards. Made up of 82% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah and 6% Carignane. Aged for 10 and a half months in 25% new American oak barrels. Only 1,176 cases produced.

A nice example of Zin: fruit, earth, and pepper, all subtle but very present. Easy to drink and certainly enjoyable.

A staple in our house. No shame drinking with Mac and cheese, rotisserie chicken from Lucky and steamed broccoli with chili flakes.

Herbaceous, Aromatic, Complex. Just an amazing example of Zinfandel, by a Napa Vintner nonetheless. Not a surprise that the grapes originate from Dry Creek Valley, however. 😉
