This wine is amazing. The fragrance from the moment the bottle lost its cork was like walking through a small room filled with flowers and berries: nearly overwhelming. Because of its age, I thought this might not last, but it did to the second night, when I finished the bottle. Ultra-smooth tannins, nice acidity, berries, sharp pepper, and earth flavors easily help up to and complimented the spicy meat dish I prepped. Mike suggests this wine through 2018 (on his website, from 2009), and I’d agree there’s no reason to wait any longer on this wine. — 7 years ago
A very subtle Zin! Relatively light-bodied, with subdued fruit, pepper, and tannins. Very nice with some light cheddar, EVOO, and sourdough. Likely won’t stand up to stronger, spicier, foods. A nice alternative to a Syrah, if you want something more modest, or a Merlot or Pinot, if you want something bolder. — 7 years ago
This was a lush wine with excellent balance. Just the right amount of fruit, acidity, weight, and tannins. Perfect with some cheddar melted on sourdough bread! — 7 years ago
At the end of its storage life, but still a delicious choice. Nicely balanced fruit & fragrance, smooth tannins, good body. — 7 years ago
A very nice example of Central Coast Syrah! — 7 years ago
A Zin-based blend, maybe? A little too heavy, fruity, and alcohol-hot, but a good choice with super-spicy food. I paid $14 for the bottle and wouldn’t pay the $32 indicated here. — 7 years ago
Aroma of smoke and leather, flavor of Shiraz with pepper accent. This was a surprise find in the basement and was delicious. — 7 years ago
Refreshing, light, cherries & bubbles! Very nice whimsical wine that you won’t regret opening if you’re in that mood. — 7 years ago
Malbec & Petit Verdot. Two grapes in which I have little interest, but I found this combination to be enjoyable. I can’t point to any specific characteristics, but I was happy with two glasses of this. I was a little dismayed by the label’s assertion of 15% ABV, but I sensed no hotness in drinking this wine. — 7 years ago

A nice example of Zin: fruit, earth, and pepper, all subtle but very present. Easy to drink and certainly enjoyable. — 7 years ago
