Reserva Herenza Rioja Tempranillo
This is a very tasty red blend from Rioja. Showing red and black fruits with earth, chocolates, tobacco, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice and peppercorn.
Dry on the palate and medium plus in body.
Nice finish with firm tannins. Needs 90 minutes to open up properly.
This 6 years old is peaking now. Very tasty.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
14% alcohol by volume. Kosher.
90 points.

A pretty color of dark ruby with a wide brick/ copper rim.
Nice nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, cedar, leather, licorice, vanilla, earth, wet leaves, light vegetables, herbs, peppercorn, dark coffee and tobacco leaf.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black cherries, raspberries, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, light peppercorn, vegetables, dark coffee and herbs.
Medium plus in finish and spicy, with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a nice surprise. A very nice red Rioja. Showing nice complexity with a spicy mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and already good all by itself. A good food wine too.
Will age nicely in the next 7 years.
Needs an hour to open up properly and remove the acidity. Gets earthier as it opens up.
That's the kind of Tempranillo I enjoy.
Kosher. Not Mevushal.
