Special Cuvée Mendocino Chardonnay
Mendocino, North Coast, California, USA
Sourced from 2 area vineyards, deep Ruby red color with aromas of fresh red and black fruits and some perfumed spice, aged 20 months, half in stainless and half in neutral oak, then combined and put in barrels for 2 months before bottling. On the palate flavors of raspberry, cherry and plum with notes of licorice, spice and orange citrus. Lively acidity, medium+ finish, fine tannins ending with fruit and spice. Nice!

Oct 3rd, 2017Pale straw gold. Blousey nose of citrus, minerals, and quince. Medium body palate confirms the nose with a bit of birch zing. Finish is medium in length and gives white peppery pome. The rare California Chardonnay that I will seek out. Great compliment to a wide variety of foods.
