2011: The bret jumped out of the bottle like a smoky cartoon finger curled under your nose. Fortunately, the chunky dark fruit was able to carry it. Not an attention grabber or particularly complex, yet showing typicity, with the Syrah supplying a baseline of flavor, and also the lift it needed.

Rustic to a fault. I am not averse to a touch of Brett complexity, but this is over the top with the funk. Some nice depth of fruit beneath and completely resolved tannins.
