This chard, as @Mark Flesher put it, is very much down the middle of the road. Not pure fruit, not pure buttery oak. A nice compromise. Notes of honeysuckle, kiwi, watermelon rind. Light bodied. Crisp.

I personally appreciate this style of Chardonnay that I refer to as @Toast, without Butter." Medium bodied, very elegant and pleasant citrus notes on the finish which make this Oaked wine very refreshing.

Dec 4th, 2016Dutton Ranch Chard. Loads of golden apple/pear/lemon, but also a little bit of tangerine/pineapple. Hints of honey and vanilla give it a really smooth lift. Delightfully well-balanced and rich in texture too. Full disclosure: I work here, but didn't make this vintage.

Nose is clean with medium intensity with notes of honeysuckle oaky notes vanilla bread and butterscotch. The palate is dry, smooth and full bodied with pronounced flavor. The buttery and oak notes are predominant here with subtle fruit notes. The wine has a long finish and is the quintessential old white lady chardonnay. Not for me but it is a very well made wine.
