Bottled in 1947, and produced apparently in 1941, this classic wine, which I have had several times, was showing well, given that other recent bottles are way too old to enjoy. This bottle, brought as a birthday present by my friend Stuart, was in very good shape and very much enjoyed by me.

1947 Fun and hard to describe what a treat just to imagine how this came about. Was there an industry in California at the time? I thought It had some characteristics of Zinfandel but it also gave me plenty of reasons not to doubt is mostly cab... And who knows what else... It is still very much alive
