St. Helena Merlot

Lovely. Ripe red fruit, vanilla, toast and clove.

Purple florals and the fruits leap out of the glass in the nose. Blackberries, black plum, ollieberries, touch of blueberries, big cinnamon, vanila, violets, mid body & tannins, sticky dusty tannins on the finish.

Last one. Eight years out, this wine is balanced, lush, and subtly complex. A lovely wine.

Still a 91/100. Excellent Merlot, very balanced and lush. Definitely a good value.

Last had one of these just over a year ago. As I remembered it...bold, smooth, loaded with blackberries, blueberries, and plums. Very good!

Dark violet in the glass with a wide, purple rim. Very fruit forward nose with cranberry sauce, bright cherries, and blueberry jam. Medium bodied with smooth tannins, this starts off as fine and lush and grows into something much more refined and powerful. Super interesting palate consisting of mushrooms, blackberries, stewed plums, soft vanilla, and smoke. Coffee, spice, and herbs bring up the rear. The next time someone says they don’t like Merlot, give them this. It’ll change their minds.
