Delectable this is an auction wine . A little more flamboyant vs the Keller. Shows a little more sweetness and tropical fruit but never gets to shout. Plenty of zest and incredible freshness. More hedonistic than the Keller. Power and concentration just showcased in a different style. Cannot separate the two wines qualitatively just a question of one’s stylistic preference

Aug 17th, 2023Very perfumed on the nose , melon and passion fruit. If I was smelling blind I might have guessed spatlese On the palate a little more citrus but with some weight . Wonderful pure concentrated fruit that lingers on your tongue.

Second time I had this Alte Reben Kabinett. Tasting sample at the Auction in Trier in which this Kabinett was sold at a price of 160 Euro netto per bottle. A new world record for this Prädikat. Although this is A LOT of money, this wine defined how a good Kabinett should look like. Light without beeing thin, lots of beautiful aromas on the nose, nearly weightless. Incredible tension, perfect, ripe acidity. Just wow. A real Champion.

Jul 4th, 2016Ofcourse way too young, needs probably another 5 years in the cellar but I absolutely enjoy this youthfulness aswell with already great balance of sweetness and acidity with loads of fresh stone fruit and citrus flavours and a lot of floral notes. Already shows nice complexity and the finish is loooooong
