Edmond Cornu & Fils
Les Moutottes Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Aloxe-Corton, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Needed maybe more time or was past … I usually love the 14s but mediocre at best.

The 2002 Edmond Cornu & Fils Les Moutottes is from half a hectare that’s situated next to the Grand Cru Le Rognet Corton.
I bought this bottle in Dallas in 2012 and later brought it to California only to return it to Louisiana in 2014 before its last trip to California this summer.
Stunningly fresh considering it’s 16 and how well traveled it was. (Faintly pickled) strawberry, graham cracker, rose petal, blood orange, and beef blood, with plenty of savory garrigue. Worth the wait.

Elegant, dark fruit, suave beauty of a low key lasting Pinot style

Good, a bit rustic. The years are getting up there on this one though
