It’s an elegant Zinfandel, with rich cherry notes and a suitable amount of earth, both in the aromas and the flavors. The structure is well-defined and the tannins don’t bite very hard at all. There’s plenty of acidity and the finish is quite long and satisfying.

Mellowed out in a big way after being open for an hour. It’s Edmeades so it gets a high score just to be open. More nuanced than your regular zin. Almost drinks like an inexpensive Bordeaux, in the best way possible.

Edmeades. One of the most consistent Zin producers. Period. Love me some Edmeades.

Dried cranberries, mushrooms and Forest Floor on the nose with raspberries and strawberries on the palate. Medium to mild tannins.

Value zin. Shows Mendocino Ridge fairly well.

Retasted 01/01/2016. Still drinking well. Big, deep blackberry and black pepper spice. Chewy, chalky finish, with hints of mocha.
