Rock solid, textbook Gewurz at a bargain price. Nose has lychee and rose water, a bit of dried apricot, and a musky, slightly earthy note. Loads of Gewurz spice and a surprisingly level of stony minerality in the mouth. Lots of ripe pear fruit. Off-dry (feinherb style). Full bodied. Satisfying.

Jun 22nd, 2020Can’t remember if this is my second or third bottle of this over the last few years but it never disappoints. Nose isn’t shy with the musky, earthy, lychee nut and sweet pear scents. Sweet fruit cocktail on the first hit, but then some nice minerality and acids enter on the off dry finish. Amazing for $15.

Jan 15th, 2019Got 5 of these super cheap from Last Bottle about a year ago. I have always loved Alsace Gewurz. It’s the wine I turn to when I want something just for me and fuck everyone else. This one is textbook, with musky pear and lychee nut aromas. Off-dry with decent acids. Bit of minerality in mid palate. Great value.

Oct 15th, 2017Getting my Gewurtztraminer fix from Ginglinger-Fix. Classic funky, dank, lychee nut, deep floral nose. Lighter and more precise in the mouth than the nose suggests. Off-dry. Clean, long finish with some nice minerally notes and decent acids. Fantastic value at $15.

I should have purchased more. Sweet nose, dried apricots, pineapple, lychee. Medium body, honey color, nice length 10+ seconds. Acidity makes it good friendly, enjoyed over two nights, first with raclette, second with lemon herb cod. Finishes just short of a golden raisin delivering enough sweetness without being cloying. Probably will drink well for the next couple years.
