Smokey black cherry, strawberry, blackberry and forest floor. Starting to show tertiary character with leather and meat. Elegant tannins ands a lovely balance of fruit, acid and alcohol. Very good quality and delicious drinking now.

Elegant, elevated even: deep black fruits, sub base drum notes of wet planting soil, so the earthy thing in a smooth, polished form. Enough juiciness & freshness to bring it home.

Deep, glistening red. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet features red berry and cherry preserve and spicecake qualities, along with hints of incense and smoky minerals. Displays a suave blend of richness and energy, offering sweet black raspberry and cherry pie flavors and a touch of candied lavender. The floral note carries strongly through the impressively long finish, which is framed by harmonious tannins that fold effortlessly into the wine's plush red fruit. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2020)

Decanted but still closed and not as bold as expected. Enjoyable but would recommend 2013 over 2012. 8.5 for 2012 and 8.8 for 2013

It is approaching its peak and not far off. The nose is garrigue and mint with a bit of alcohol vapor still. On the tongue the wine reveals really fine structure and deep, chewy black fruit with a hint of licorice. This is a winter wine.

2007 Guigal Gigondas. Southern Rhone perfection! Black cherry. Blackberry. Earthy minerals. Iodine. Roasted herbs. Balance. Length. Softness. Only bad thing is it was my last bottle.
