Ex Voto Hermitage Syrah

Deep, glass-staining ruby. Deep-pitched aromas of cherry liqueur, blackberry, fruitcake and incense on the highly perfumed nose. Stains the palate with vibrant black and blue fruit liqueur, allspice and violet pastille flavors, enlivened by a smoky mineral nuance that builds with aeration. Shows a suave blend of richness and vivacity, and no rough edges. Spicy and expansive on the strikingly long, sappy finish, which features resonating dark berry character and youthfully chewy tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2020)

Another monster wine with impressive bloodlines on a night of too many riches. Modern no funk profile. Sappy candied cherry, very jammy and still sowing some heat. Formidable bones that needs time to develop the elegance this wine will show with additional time in the bottle. Hold 5 years minimum.

Velvety, integrated, floral with all the purple flowers, definitely mineral. Simply delicious.

Initially good but a bit then on the palate. Initially acidic with a short finish. Opens with air and has briars and brambles and nice fruit elements.

Crazy amount of oak!

2001 - I had it with dinner. Reminded me of cndp in many ways. Delicious but unremarkable in the ways I was hoping.

Deliciously feral and mouth filling. Wearing it's age on it's sleeve a little though

Nice wine, still well oaked and a bit Italian.

Still very young. Rouge, not Blanc.
