Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

This was actually my first Napa Valley Dunn as I’ve normally enjoyed their Howell Mountain. Definitely more approachable...blackberry, fig and pipe tobacco aromatics with a darker/charcoal like streak down the middle of the palate. Finish has some dark cocoa dusted dates and a touch of bayleaf.

Tasted blind and was in Bordeaux. Elevated acidity & earth. Fruit was bright and pure. Excessive tannins? Nope.

Served blind and couldn't decide between CA or BDX. Very nice and surprisingly accessible.

Wine of the night. Bordeaux in style and just a damn good bottle of wine.

This was wonderful tonight.

So good and so consistent. Bruised plums, figs, olives, and leather. Not as good as their Howell Mountain of course but not having to deal with the wax almost balances it out.

Love Dunn. Warm spice on the nose. Bruised black fruit palate. Just a touch of tannin left. Classy.

Nothing overly flashy. Expected a little more from this bottle

Weird ride. Chalky and tannic out of the bottle, then watery and bland, now blue fruit and smooth. Probably needed more air before consumption. Not bad just not amazing.

Powerful approach Muscular on the mid pallate! My perfect Napa Cab!
