This is outstanding chard. Ocean air and smoke on the nose. You can sense the level of toast on the barrels used here. The palate is dense, yet balanced. Dried apricots, pineapple, golden raisins, butterscotch, then moving to nectarine, honeycomb, kumquat, susumu orange, the layers just keep coming. The more time you let this longer in the glass, the more you will discover. Great acidity to balance the richness. 7 years old and going strong. Lots more ahead.

Apr 17th, 2016Heady with fresh cut apricot and citrus zest on the nose. The palate is generous and broad, with white flowers, beeswax, Marcona almonds, clementine, and nectarine. Nice, clean finish. A burst of acidity and some metallic notes. I'm a fan!
