There are so many wines for me to choose from, right in my "backyard" (New York State), and I hardly ever give them a chance. I tried a couple over the years, but nothing really blew me away. From what I have been hearing lately, there have been huge improvements with New York wines. Well I am going to start my conquest, and test the New York "waters" again. I started off tonight with something from North Fork, Long Island- I decided to open up, a 2010 Duckwalk Merlot Blue Duck. This wine is pretty good, especially for the low price point of $10.00! Color -ruby Bouquet-strawberry preserves, wet stones, and white pepper. Palate-red fruit, spice, and sour cherries on the finish.
