Light on the gardenia/honeysuckle nose, noticable RS level, but not distracting.

Nov 22nd, 2017I really liked this -- I've always liked gewurtztraminer and although this isn't as complex as Alsatian examples, it's maybe the best new world example I've had. There's lots of peach, mango, lychee, with hints of pineapple and pear. The acidity is soft and moderate, there's spice, and there's slatey minerality but not as much as in many wines from this region. The mouth feel is rich, and there's more sugar than a lot of European examples. There's just enough acidity, spice and minerality to keep the fruit and sugar from being cloying. This is great with spicy Asian food. I had it with a Thai Muslim curry of seafood.
