From the winery: "The ranch affectionately called Helluva (beacuase it is a helluva ranch!) is just northwest of Boonville and produces a light bodied and nervy Pinot that illustrates the varietals [sic] potential when grown in cooler climates and picked for balance. Our Pinot would NEVER be mistaken for our Syrah, and that is how it should be!"

Leads with mineral, blood orange and bright red fruit. Has a sneaky, savory undertone that fills in the gaps between bites of dinner. The prefect wine for a nice meal when you want to focus on the company, and that's a high compliment.

Great acidity and, after a few hours open, nice fruit. A bit of a watermelon jolly rancher vibe, but in a good way. But for the price, I'd hope for a bit more complexity. Might as well be drinking fantastic Loire pinots, unless I lived in Berkeley.
