Languid and not showing full expression right now. Sweet, sappy and full with a very dark fruit core and a marked savory side, but just very wound up right now.
This is substantially better now (Monday) than it was Friday night. Quite vivid and striking. The hollow mid palate from Friday is replaced by a warm brightness of fruit and silky mouthfeel. Serving suggestion: Decant 72 hours 😂

Jun 8th, 2019It has been quite a while since I last drank a Laurent Burgundy. Sadly, the 200% oak treatment is just too much for Pinot Noir. Other dark red varieties maybe but this is too extreme with unresolved oak fragrance and tannins. Too bad: there is probably a nice wine buried underneath.
