Federspiel Riesling

Pale lemon with pronounced stone fruit and citrus aromas with floral blossoms. On the palate flavors of apricot, peach, pear and lime citrus with vivid acidity, minerality and spice. Medium finish ending dry with fresh fruit, floral and smoky mineral notes.

Refreshing. Oily with lovely mineral characters. Malted Barley on the nose with grapefruit and citrus pith. Not bad for a cheapie, but needs more length and acid grip to be exceptional.

A textbook entry level grüner, consistent from vintage to vintage. It ages well too, for a wine marketed for immediate enjoyment. Subtle white peach, makrut leaves, pepper and sand. Spicy yasai ramen for the win. 🍜 🍑🌿

Second evening in Austria. The nose is pretty typical, with lemon, lemon zest, some flowery touches and a tiny petrol touch. The palate is acid driven, there are some nice lemon and zesty touches all along, some more width in the mid palate before a moderately long finish with lemon and lemon zest. Simple yet delicious. Not as laser focused as German Riesling expressions, but a bit lovelier, more gentle. Good stuff

This Gruner Veltliner was Excellent. Clear, crisp, clean. $15 for the glass and $60 for the bottle. The house white. An Austrian wine from Wachau. Only $12.99 a bottle at Costco on 1/16/2021!!!! On 1/25/2021, found at Wegmans for $14 a bottle.

Very good Riesling! nice acidity, crisp, and easy to drink.
