The exclamation point of the evening was the '94 Domaine Zind Humbrecht Gewurtztraminer 'Heimbourg Vendange Tardive'. Although it's a late harvest Alsatian, the sweetness has disappated with age, and the blazing acidity showcases the ripe lychee fruit, orange marmalade and burnt sugar flavors. Brilliantly balanced with a lingering finish.
