Pale gold in colour. A trace of paraffin, tangerine and grapefruit peel. Palate staining intensity - mandarin flesh, ripe grapefruit, low acid with great length. I had a bottle of this a week ago which was oxidised and over the hill so I was thinking the worst for this but Lo and behold this was brilliant. This wine is at its peak. A superb dry Riesling and one of the 1001 Wines.

Apr 18th, 2020Mid Lemon in colour. A very subdued nose to begin with but with aeration giving hints of quince and honey. The first taste after the subdued nose did not prepare one for the riot of honeycomb and mineral on the palate. With time flavours of ginger, spice and a good acid line came through. A beautiful complex Alsatian Riesling with great intensity and persistence. Finishes dry.
