Tried this again. This 1er Cru is bottled on the property, which was founded in 1870, located on the left bank of the Serein, Vaillon, meaning valley, where vineyards are located. Pale lemon with fresh fruit aromas of stone and citrus fruits with wafts of smoky mineral notes, aged for 12 months on oak. On the palate flavors of clean apple and pear, nice acidity, good balance on long finish ending with smoky and bright mineral character.

Jul 18th, 2020Vocoret family has been growing vines for over 4 generations. The Kimmeridgian (limestone-rich) soils run through Chablis, gives the wines their mineral character. Aromas of stone & citrus fruits & flinty notes. Palate shows stone fruits with lemon citrus, lively acidity. Long finish ending with a steely chalky mineral expression. Very nice. Good value!

Nose: light lemon, green grapes, guava, light oak, minerality, warm spices
Dry, low acid, medium alcohol, medium body.
Flavors: light, similar to aromas, plus honey and faint star anise.
The mouth feel is lovely.
Pairing with Epoisses cheese, fresh pears, rustic bread
