Drinking really well but wouldn't cellar further. Herbs, cured meat, cured black olives, seamless and long. Some rustic notes but altogether delicious.

Aug 20th, 2018The perfect time to drink the '93. Texture has just enough tannic crunch and saline snap to give it vibrancy. All those wonderful Mourvèdre notes of blood, beef drippings, and iodine are at the forefront, with subtle dried fruit notes in the background. Wish I could have spent more time with this.

Jun 14th, 2015I brought this 3 days ago to a luncheon with dear winery friends from the Sierra foothills (with the 1993 Tourtine, which was fabulous and super-youthful, a 9.4 easily). This bottle showed low threshold corked issues, so I brought it home and sipping it now. Way better than 3 days ago, meaty, earthy, with the typical La Miguoa barnyard funk, pretty solid even now!!
