This is a VERY pleasant surprise (at first pass, I was not sure I would love this but it really opened up). Bought this from the Secret wine fridge at FLX Wienery. After being closed off for many years, this baby needed to breathe. It's from The Rocks before it was known as "The Rocks." The funk is mostly blown off. The power is still there on the finish--which is elegant and long. The fruit is still present with conflicting red and blue fruit--esp. prevalent is dried raspberry and blackberry. The pepper is still present. The tannins are still powering through 17 years later.

Stewed plums, figs , vibrant cherry, sandalwood and bright, vibrant fruit. Med plus acid and easier tannin than the others. Really delicious!
