Another stunning release from Domaine Serene, the 2015 'Evenstad Reserve' Chardonnay saw 40% new French oak for 13 months prior to bottling. This beautiful wine opens to inviting aromas of brioche toast, nectarine, Pazzaz apple and suggestions of heavy cream. Balanced and poised, yet showing serious mid-palate weight, this possesses a seamless, silky texture laced with flavors of key lime, crème brûlée, toast and orchard fruits which continue to build on the near minute long finish. This is a masterful effort by Domaine Serene and their winemaking team. Drink 2019-2030- 94

Medium gold in the glass. Reticent nose, round malo richness on the palate. Ripe pear and sweet red apple notes.., just enough acid to keep in interesting. Riper that I usually expect from Oregon at 14.2... this is no Chablis! Wine works well with food , but more reminiscent of Sonoma than Willamette.

Raw oysters from Hog Island oysters shucked by me and Hog Island clam chowder recipe with a nice chardonnay...Staying home does not suck sometime!!!

Pop and pour. A lite golden color. On the nose: lemon, toasty oak, floral, tangerine. Taste: apple, lemon, lime zest, pear, grapefuit with a carmel mineral medium finish. A rich and full creamy taste.... good bright acidity helps mitigate the rich/full taste.

Bit of pear and melon. Finish had some sharp bitterness that did not compliment the entire palette. Temp was better than 56, thus smoke time to reduce these edges that didn’t completely happen. Otherwise approachable Chardonnay.
