Domaine Rolet
Tradition Arbois Chardonnay Blend
Super oxi. Even more so than usual for Rolet. Floral, honeyed almonds. Seriously would say fino blind before it opened up a bit.

Jul 6th, 2024Spooky pairing tonight : rolet arbois tradition white from 2009 and a home made spiced-up egg fried rice. A lovely pairing as the oxidative notes of the wine complement quite well the dashes of soja sauce we threw in there and the great acid drive is a perfect match to the fluffiness of the rice / egg. Great pairing!
The nose is very oxidative with sour apple notes, nuts, butter and some flowery notes too. It smells almost like and old white port. The palate is a model of balance with a massive acid backbone that makes it a very, very long wine, a good width, some nutty notes, some apple touches, a great mid palate that expends into the form of a ball shape, before a long, fresh, crisp, extremely precise finish that lasts for ever. This is definitely not your every day wine but I love it and the pairing with egg fried rice is divine!
