Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon

My last bottle was 3 years ago and I said it needed a long decant. That’s no longer needed! This wine is drinking fantastic right now pnp. Tannins have softened but still have a bit of an edge mid palate. Fruit is big and juicy and ripe, black and red, with hints of blue coming through as it opens up. Graphite, black licorice, pencil shavings, pipe tobacco. Really lovely flavor and structure. Finish is a bit light but overall drinking in its prime now! And fantastic for a 2017.

Really good

Definitely give it a 2 hr decant. Very well structured but tannins are tight and need to be coaxed. Big black and red fruit. Mid palate a bit light. Medium finish. This wine could last many years and will prob be really good in another 10+ years.

Thick slow legs for high alcohol. Deep dark color. Bold. Spice. Long finish. Earthy. Tobacco. Gifted to me

Still too tannic and alcoholic. Give it another few another few years.

Still a little green, needs a decant. Beautiful blue and black fruit. Strong tannins that need some time to mellow.

Deep and ripe red/blue fruit. Have it a good decant which took a bit of edge off the heat. Starting to round out with tannins having mellowed nicely. Has notes of tobacco that mesh well with the fruit. Definitely needs ~5yrs or so in bottle before you open it.

Very interesting - big nose but lacking in mouthfeel - a little green. Think a few hours of Decant is needed.
