I decided to revisit a bottle that was the winner of our horizontal tasting of MSD 2016 village (10 producers tasted blind by 10 participants). And once again this is a hit for a village. Lots of complexity, licorice, spices and red fruits... more than satisfactory length for this level of appellation.

Noticeably better than it's older sibling, as advertised. More subtle acidity and brashness, more persistence and elegance throughout. @Chris MacLean

I really liked this, but it was intended to highlight the positives about its newer sibling, the 2010 that we tasted afterward ... @Chris MacLean

Classic nose of earth mushrooms and red fruits. Gained weight with air and duplicated those same traits on the palate.
