Dark ruby red. Inviting nose and lush medium palate of earthy black cherry, fresh mushroom, and slightly woody red plum. Medium acidity. Medium minus tannins. A Burgundy for the New World drinker. Just enough fruit and a well regulated militia of oak, tannins, and acidity make for a PN that’s true to its roots yet approachable to the novice. A wide variety of cuisines will pair nicely. I went with very authentic (read, “spicy”) Ethiopian fare. Drink now through 2028.

2004 vintage. Oxidative and honeyed character with maintained intensity of flavor.

2011. Nice side by side of two Javillier reds - I liked this one a touch better. This one had more complexity on the nose with some cherry pie spice, potpourri, cinnamon, and cola.. Dark fruit and a touch of earth on the palate.. Quite a nice bottle actually for the price.

About 3-5 years passed it's prime but not too shabby for a Monday.

Young and tight. Needed a bit to decant and open. Tart cranberry and under ripe strawberry. Earthy mushroom and soft baking spices on the finish. Softens as it opens. Looking forward to roasted chicken with this.
