The front label says “En Remont.” Back label says “Vignes de 1939.” Delectable has them as two different wines so I’m not sure which is which. Anyway, this is very fragrant, ripe, and densely fruity. Not jammy, thought the acids are on the low side. So while complexity and subtlety is not it’s calling card there is a lot to like here.

Murky ruby color with some black highlights. Aromas of ripe red, blue and black fruit, citrus zest, dusty earth and wet stones. Flavors of blueberry, raspberry, cranberry and currant fruit with additional notes of dried herbs and minerals. Medium-plus finish and very grainy tannins. No sign of oak aging. Lively tangy acidity. Extremely rustic and savory.
