Domaine Parent
Corton Grand Cru Pinot Noir
Nose has syrup-y cherry, wet steel, moist-dried leaves, very over-ripe strawberry, dehydrated strawberry and wet mahogany shavings.
Palate has dried sweet cherry, cane sugar, brown bread, ripe sweet cherry, dried blackberry with faint tannins and acidity.
Tawny ruby color.
Cork pulled for slow oxidation at 5H, in a nice spot at this time.
Clearly the better of our bottles, frankly I'm quite pleased by the palate, brighter than expected, somewhat generous fruit persisting.
Second of two bottles acquired in 2021, this bottle had the higher shoulder fill. Cork was a mess, but one piece extraction with the Durand.
Paired to duck confit with green lentils. 👌
Solid improvement with more air time at 6-7H.

A brief Labor Day get together with some friends.
First of two bottles acquired earlier this year, this bottle had low shoulder fill, second bottle is a few cm better up the shoulder.
Nose has Madeira and stewed cherries, not it's strongest feature...
Palate has dried cherry, dried strawberry, slightly Port-like on the concentration; comparisons of Amarone are heard and justifiable.
Decanted 5H before we started; notes at 10H and every minute appreciated. Hopefully bottle No. 2 will be bottle No. 1. 🤞

Cherries and dirt light and bright. Mocha and light dirt. Absolutely perfect balance soft rolling tannins. Ann nailed this beauty! So happy I have a lot more!
