There were a few of us who tasted this and It was interesting to see the varied notes with one focusing on earthiness, another on pine needles and yet another on pears. This is a complex and delicate wine that displays many faces. The malo is clearly evident, and the barrel aging dine with a light touch. Though a tad boozy on the nose right after opening, it mellows out to offer up light pear, traces of honey, and exciting minerality (the vines are planted in soil of white sand, quartz, clay and marl). Alsatian Pinot Gris, like my bastard child, I neglect you for months and until you stare me in the face I forget how great you are. I could drink this one for days. Bruised yellow pears, truffles, corn chowder, pecan and marzipan. So good... So. Good.
