Domaine Metrat et Fils
La Roilette Vieilles Vignes Fleurie Gamay
Ruby with aromas of red berry fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry with dried flower spice. Fine soft dusty tannins on medium(+) finish ending fruit character.

Feb 10th, 2021Medium Ruby in colour. Earthy aromas with leathery meaty and toasty oak notes. Amazing intensity for a Beaujolais. Grand Cru and traditional wine making techniques (not Cab Mac) makes the difference. Good quality with potential for ageing.

Jul 18th, 2016Almost full bodied yet light enough. Went very nicely with the duck roast dinner, the fruity flavours came through plessently with the medium body.

Oct 29th, 2017Weak nose, like mentioned by others a sweet start and a dry finish. Certainly goes down well chilled and served with a summer lunch.

Jun 28th, 2015Pretty weak nose, not much going on here. Will write again on day two and from a smaller glass maybe. Medium+ body with some chocolate on the palate. After one day in the open bottle, it has a medium-intense note of sour cherries, prunes, maybe violets. A bit of minerality, maybe tiny amounts of graphite.
On the palate, some sweetness, fruit, firm tannins that aren't quite integrated yet and that dominate the long finish.
Nice enough, not very interesting. Might benefit from one or two more years.
