Domaine les Pallières
Gigondas Red Rhone Blend
Still pretty tight. Decanting helped but not enough. There's red fruit and spice wrapped up in there somewhere. Just gonna take a few more years to emerge.

I’d been keeping these since release and until now, they hadn’t seemed ready, despite what other notes online have suggested - there was plenty of body and material, but some hardness and a lack of expression. That was all gone here, with a big, open nose of fruit, game, mushrooms and herbs. Sadly, this was my last bottle. I’ll be buying more and also can’t wait to revisit my stash of 2004 and other Vieux Telegraphe!

2004 vintage. Dark red, brilliant. Red onion halo (looks younger than its vintage). Red fruits, tobacco, underwood, a touch of vanilla. Progressive attack, round, agreeable. Tobacco, wood, cassis. Long caudalies, on the wooden side.
