Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 1990 “Les Combottes” pours a pale ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of desiccated cranberry, raspberry, dried flowers, sous bois, mushroom, dried herbs, some leather and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. While very much alive,, this in the sunset of its life. Drink now. Bottle No. 1139/1722

Rating a wine experience like this seems ridiculous... All of these burgundies and the '74 cabs were great... And all three Leroys (not something I'd expect to say very often!) were open and outstanding! And they were all very transparent to terroir, this Combottes more rigorous and firmly structured. Beautiful wine!

Nice wine, but not terribly expressive.

To young - but not typical leroy. Lots of stuffing here. Years ahead

Perfumed with rose petal, pomegranate, white tea. Such a sexy wine. Silky texture and mesmerizing.
