Domaine Léon Barral
Faugères Carignan Blend
Tis the season for soul warming Languedoc reds. This was the basic faugeres, carignane/Grenache/cinsault blend. Soft and mellow, black cherry fruit has maybe dried out a little, slightly brown even, but still there, plus olives, herbs, some subtle brett. Is it more fun than a Barral of monkeys? Not quite but a nice drink

Dec 7th, 2020Not for the brett-averse. I think the barrel staves once lined the bottom of a chicken coop. Not bad, but I'm more tolerant of brett when there is less fruit and more savory character.

Jun 12th, 2016Didier. Holy shit this was good barnyard. This makes me want to play with pigs on the mud. Carignon young has that red raspberry that's hard to replicate. Yum and bio whatever. This wine rocks.
