Faugères Carignan Blend

Tis the season for soul warming Languedoc reds. This was the basic faugeres, carignane/Grenache/cinsault blend. Soft and mellow, black cherry fruit has maybe dried out a little, slightly brown even, but still there, plus olives, herbs, some subtle brett. Is it more fun than a Barral of monkeys? Not quite but a nice drink

Not for the brett-averse. I think the barrel staves once lined the bottom of a chicken coop. Not bad, but I'm more tolerant of brett when there is less fruit and more savory character.

Leathery, minty. Still tight after an hour decant.

Lots of garrigue and the age has softened the hard edges perfect pair with dinosaur ribs and grilled corn

Didier. Holy shit this was good barnyard. This makes me want to play with pigs on the mud. Carignon young has that red raspberry that's hard to replicate. Yum and bio whatever. This wine rocks.

kick myself for drinking the first 6, with pulled pork franklins beans and spicy slaw this rocks like only a 10 yr old can
