Decanted for a few hours and taken to Kochi in Hells Kitchen. Light straw color. Vibrant and viscous in the glass. Old Leflaive petrol and reductive nose. Notes of citrus fruit, lemon crème, wet stones, petrol, tan spice, hazelnut and white flowers. Good balance of rich fruit with still strong acidity. Long finish. Bottles this fresh easily have a decade or more of pleasure in front of them. At peak but still has plenty to give.

Great looking bottle, late release bought at a shop in Chassagne back in the day. Nice medium gold color but still looks young. Aromatic nose with notes of lemon, apricot, river stone, cardamom spice and some petrol. Long finish. Great Leflaive juice. Exactly where this should be at, with plenty of life ahead of it.

One of the best bottles of this I’ve had. When they’re good they’re very very good.

1996: Oily nose reminiscent of smelling quartz rocks as a child. Flavor matches nose. Saturated liqueur like mouthfeel and penetration. Long finish. I'm sure there are better bottles, yet this shows what's under the hood.

Best bottle of '96 I have had. Fresh still tight, layered, balanced. A happy bottle!
