Needs air. Is much better on night 2. Pungent nose is all crushed dark rock dust, roasted green herbs (including roasted mint!), tart dark berry skins. Savory and high-toned in the mouth, with mouthwatering acids, super lean, but pretty flavorful. Needs food. Almost seems like they picked just a tad too early in a calculated quest to make a statement against ripeness (only 12.5%). I’m not fan of jammy fruit bombs, but I’d rather get it right than make a statement.

May 31st, 2020Aramon?! I had never heard of this grape. Not to mention this region... Sorta floral, light bodied, intensely flavored with red fruit just barely baked, chewy tannins, long finish. Anyway, fun new stuff for me. Holler if you know it.
This is Cotes du Brain in Languedoc-Roussillion. Not in the database
