Pommard Pinot Noir

Been 3 years. Nose is wide open. Sappy red and black cherries and a firm Pommard stoniness. Floral, meaty and layered. Really aromatic and nice. Heaps better than 3 years ago. Palate has high acid, ripe and juicy but firm tannins, dark black cherry fruit but needs air as 16 has mega low yields and many serious wines. This being one of them. Nose picking up some nice earthy complexity. Really chewy and dense with just exhilarating and confectionary fruit. Needs air but a solid 9.3 now.

Classic nose of sinewy, dark and effusive big cherry fruit with a background of intense stones. Pommard was the sweet spot in 19. Better than Volnay. Super clean and has that lipstick like intensity. Palate is ripe and compact with super juiciness and insane freshness. So sleek and refined. This is packed but so elegant and pure. Really impressive. Impeccable balance and stunning, sweet, velvety, ripe tannins. Long finish. Wonderful.

As it airs the nose gets more pungent and the fruit really comes out. Such a lovely clarity to the fruit. Love the energy here. Superb!

Great nose. Superb aromas of mashed flowers, fresh cut grass, dark cherry fruit, soil tones and some game and stoniness. Juicy and complex. Big and classic Pommard with some intense tannins but fruit to back it up. I’d wait a few years.

Big, brooding earthy Pommard nose. Stoney some dark cherries and licorice. Elegant and mineral and after some coaxing gorgeous florals. Sense of deepness as well. Big and so juicy, man I love the bold intensity of Pommard. Dense and complex with almost painfully complex fruit and wonderful velvety tannins that are prominent. Terrific depth and swath to the tannins. Awesome length, acidity and freshness. Will be better in 5 years but great today.

Wow. So much for the Lombard can’t be drunk for 10 years thing. Mos def will improve over time but you can see the brilliance today. Earthy nose. Some mushroom. Palate is really an elegant version of POmmard. You have the blackberry fruit for sure. And some licorice. But they are balanced and it has nice acidity. The blackberries are more picked off the vine in the wild kind then the dense knock your head off kind. This wine has upside from this score as it ages. High floor given the balance and structure. Bought from fass selections. .... as this opens some spice. ... as this opens nose is getting some dark lilacs. Palate density is more apparent. Still elegant. Internal aromatics are this dense penetrating spicy live blackberry thing. Like inhaling a blackberry bush in the forest. Finish is a bit tight but has a kiss of chocolate. Wow. ... after 3 hours stunning freshness.
