Leather, black olive and plum, a little VA, almost a "motor oil" component. Dense and brooding with statement making tannins.

From 50+ year old (and even some 150+ year old old pre-phylloxera) vines. A really intriguing wine that needs food. Intense tannins + high acid that find their balance. Aromatic w/ lacquer (helloooo VA, but just enough to add a needed little lift), pepper steak, black plum, violet, cinnamon, paraffin, smoke. All of that plus a lingering exotic spice on the palate. Ideally paired with something rustic and fatty (we settled for lentils). Good winter warmer.

Highly tannic, thick and rich. Lovely. Some brettanomyces but it blends well with the richness of the wine.

Great French Tannat from very old vines. This wine is very characteristic of old style Madiran with intense red fruit, mocha, and brown spice held together by gripping tannins and searing acidity. The sensation on the palette is a combination of dryness and acidity that you won’t find with any other grape. Pair this with red meat or a fatty dish and enjoy. Really good! 2014 vintage on Sept 21, 2018

I have enjoyed quite a few bottles of this tannat. Very nice rich wine dark and concentrated with some minerality some dark dry fruit and a decent longish dry finish. Not as tannic as a lot of people think, could actually use some more tannic structure. This is more of a new world style, a (sadly) toned down old world wine to fit the more modern sweeter pallet to make it more accessible at a younger age, all in all though a nice stronger concentrated wine.
