Domaine La Piffaudiere
Mon Tout Rouge PIF Gamay Côt
2/3 Pinot d’Anuis and 1/3 Gamay this is the summertime red you crave. Juicy, not too bright but plenty of fruit, nicely dry finish and only 11.5 abv! Super gulpable!

Jul 8th, 2018Think the one I’m rating is 100% pineau? Per Bianca of PBB: If you ask me, Pineau d'Aunis has this really unique dead giveaway profile, and once you've had it a couple of times, you'll automatically recognize it in the glass. It has this super distinct nose of white pepper, iron, and herbaceousness, like a peppery-spicy-minerally way about it, but sprinkled with some tart red fruit. Admittedly, I personally believe it can be an acquired taste if you're used to more fruit forward red wines, but once you catch the bug, it's hard not to love it's freshness and vibrancy. It's quite the expressive grape, and this wine is a perfect example of that. Earthy and terroir driven but perfectly light and easy to drink, it's a great BBQ wine or with tuna based ceviche or sushi. It can really stand up to most red meat dishes that need a little zing to them. As far as when to drink this wine, one of the best french online retailers says "Drink this wine now, you can go into it with your eyes closed, it's ready to go."

Aug 17th, 2019Full of cranberry, pomegranate with lively acidity. Bitter notes linger for a bit. Recommended as a light chillable red but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would.
