#drinkcheninday Ok, I'll bite on this movement. Lovely visceral Chenin Blanc from Montlouis-Sur-Loire, Domaine La Grange Tiphaine.

2012 montlouis sur Loire Clef du Sol. This is just disarmingly lovely Chenin with a green stemminess that the winemaker enjoys describing as gentian. Indeed. So very drinkable. So lovely.

Fantastic drink. Racy and focused. Impressed with its heft as it held up against a variety of grilled foods during a lazy Sunday afternoon

Reminded me a bit of a white Burgundy with some age to it. Golden yellow with citrus and a touch of saline. Loved every drop.

Deep golden color and notes of oxidation on an otherwise complex ripened fruits and earth profile carrying through to surprisingly balanced but still acidic palate. Great with Leila’s garlic paprika buttery lemony shrimp. On the downslope from past glory drank perhaps decade ago. Last of two GL20.
