The 2016 L'Empreinte is the debut cuvée of Joblot's blended Givry premier crus. Wearied by all my bitter experience with buying wines in Malaysia, you can imagine my relief when it poured out bright and purple, and the smell of crushed cassis and spice wafted out of the bottle. In the glass, the nose adds intrigue with smokey, meaty aromas and a nice acetic lift. The wine is velvety, ripe and concentrated on the palate, framed by rather obvious wood still, with chewy tannins and lively acids. Finishes with medium length, dominated by plums and earth. Although it doesn't quite hit the spot for me, this was a solid pinot noir especially after a good number of weeks dry. Excellent value for those who like their Burgundy a little less subtle.

2024 spring / summer. Good, though I feel like I have yet to have an epiphany with Joblot’s wines

Lovely rich purple blue color. Ripe cherries and spices. Acidic. Opened up nicely. Lovely with a filet of beef medium rare and fresh grilled vegetables. Nice as an aperitif wine prior to dinner as well

Très aromatique, Beaucoup de fruit assez mur au nez comme en bouche, un peu de bois mais rien de trop dérangeant, frais, énergique, bel équilibre , finale savoureuse. 90-91

Very aromatic with tons of fairly ripe fruit on the nose and palate as well, a slight touch of oak but nothing disturbing, fresh, energetic and nice balance, delicious lenghty finish, always a great QPR.

Lots of fruit and nice acidity...wood is still prominent and became even more present on day 2...needs 5 years at least to develop but has nice potential
