Dec 19th, 2019Upfront and undecanted, can easily disguise as Sangiovese Italian with assaulting nose and tart cherry astringency. Perfect thanksgiving food marriage. Swirl or better yet decant for softer earthy purple florals and baking spices.

Nov 29th, 2019Very closed on initial taste in restaurant. Following a “vigorous decant” as stated by the Sommelier it opened up a little but still needed more air. Notes of raspberry plus earth and mineral but largely still closed. Simply put drunk too young. Grainy tannins with M+ Acid. 80% Grenache 20% Mourvèdre. Raspberry from the Grenache with the tarry tannins from the Mourvèdre coming through. Cellaring future up to 10 years.

Jan 18th, 2019A likely final visit with an old friend from my 2013 France trip. A touch oxidized but still loaded with raspberry, licorice, olive, and a touch of amaretto. Big but harmonious.

Nov 7th, 2016The bomb. Chef turns winemaker and yeah, it is freaking great. Lovely floral notes, perfect acid, food friendly and also can stand alone. What I want from a Rhone Grenache. 👍🏻🍷

Jun 23rd, 2016Tiny estate run by Jerome Gradassi just on about 5Ha, working with simple and minimal work in the vineyard on colder side of the appellation with sandy soil - he delivers small production of great Chateauneuf with much freshness, aged in used oak the wine gain texture and complexity - vines date back to the 70s with mostly Grenache and some Mourvèdre - great value for money it will have very well in the cellar for a few years 😃
