Domaine Jean Vullien
St Jean de la Porte Vin de Savoie Mondeuse Noir
Juicy, lip smacking, filled with wild black raspberry and plummy fruit goodness, all backed by cool spices, violets, blood orange. Uncomplicated and fun!

Jan 15th, 2016Almost like a Cru Beaujolais, but less candied, lots of anise type, tar covered cherries, crushed rocks, and my fave descriptor of the day: "grocery store bulk licorice bins". Light and easy going on the palate.

Apr 22nd, 2015First 100% mondeuse. Simply brown sugar, sasparilla, warmed black cherries and currant. Smooth tannins. Savory long finish. Supposedly ageable but not sure I see the components to improve overtime.
