Impressive! Clear Côte-Rotie character, full of flavour but light/easy on the palate. Lean style. Fruit forward, smoked meat, flowers & olives. The whole CR package, everything is there. Made in the semi-carbonique way, fermentation at 10 degrees Celsius, regular pigéage to avoid reduction. Aged in used barrels for two years. 10% Viognier. Brilliant wine!

Third vintage I've had of this and variation has been minimal. Rich black olive and pepper aromas. Thick and complex throughout. Really falling for this producer and prices are reasonable. Thanks @Ron Siegel ! I've got a 2010 for us to drink soon...

Very unfortunate! Smelled like a sharpie marker tip, a bit closed and unpronounced! Let's try on day two!

Decanted for 3 hours before tasting. An anomaly of a wine. Light but vivid tannins. Deep dark berry notes with a background of forest floor. Interesting.

Salami nose --beef jerky in a bottle. Still with a kick. Needs to sleep awhile but could be a giant when ready

Côte Rôti is a stunning wine in some hands, like this a blend of Viognier(10%) and Syrah , very elegant with a smoky finish, Domaine Jean-Michel Stephan and of course vin nature.
