Domaine Jean-Louis Chave
Silene Crozes-Hermitage Syrah
Solid crozes, very typical but with more concentration than the norm, the grapes surely are left to hang for a while. Beautiful meat olives plum and pepper nose, warm rocky minerality as well. Plush and and big medium weight on palate, oak is just spice and creamy texture, finishes olivine and spicy, a bit less acidity than preferred, but very good in price and category.

Nov 6th, 2016Fresh out of the cellar... Iron and blood nose, Bright acidic fruit, classic Rhone funk and cellar floor. Not for everybody. But right up my alley.

Nov 4th, 2015Exactly what I look for in a syrah. Little bit of funk, little bit of fruit, some acid and lots of herb and earth. #onatuesday
